Delayed code execution with Unity's coroutines
Posted on 1 Feb 2017 - 18:10
Sometimes a chunk of code must be executed one or more frames ahead, sometimes because it’s just convenient to do so, other times because your code simply wouldn’t work otherwise. Mind that if you are in this situation, you should first ask yourself why. In fact, having to delay your code of one or more frames can be a symptom of engineering mistakes. But it may not depend on you. I had these situations in the past and the cause were most of the times external libraries or code from someone who left the company.

Research: mapping physical objects to digital functions: a tangible interface for Querying and Navigating a Multimedia Database
Posted on 16 May 2011 - 12:10
Abstract In this work we propose a set of guidelines for tangible interfaces (TUI) for mapping physical objects and digital functions. These guidelines emphasize an aspect that has been only partly analyzed so far in TUI research: the role of the object shape as a means for suggesting how to manipulate the artifacts. The peculiarity of the proposal - general enough to be used for different application domains - is the mapping to discrete and continuous digital functions

Research: querying and navigating a database of images with the magical objects of the Wizard Zurlino
Posted on 10 Apr 2010 - 17:17
Abstract This work is part of a research targeted at experimenting the use of physical artifacts for the retrieval of multimedia information. Tangible interfaces, that couple physical artifacts to digital data, are described in different research works, and a number of studies focus on tangibles for children. In spite of that, most of the work done for the kids is related to gaming or learning. This work is focused on a less explored domain
